According to the Uzstroymateriali joint-stock company, Uzbekistan produced 6.8 million tons of cement in 2012.
Currently, there are six cement plants in Uzbekistan with a total installed capacity of nearly seven million tons. The largest plans are Kizilkumcement, with 3.15 million tons capacity, Akhangarancement with 1.74 million tons capacity and Kuvasaycement with 1.107 million tons capacity.
According to official statistics, in 2011, cement production in Uzbekistan decreased by 1.5 percent compared to 2010, reaching 6.698 million tons.
The share of the cement industry accounts for 72 percent of the total volume of commodity output in the construction industry in Uzbekistan.
