Uzbekistan reveals price growth for food products for Mar. 2021

Among the main groups of food products and non-alcoholic beverages, the leadership in price growth for March 2021 belongs to fruits and vegetables, Trend reports referring to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the committee, in March, food products rose in price by 1.2 percent, non-food products - by 0.6 percent, services - by 0.4 percent.

Since the beginning of this year, the increase in prices for goods and services amounted to 2.5 percent with an average monthly value of 0.8 percent, the committee notes.

It is reported that food prices increased by 3.1 percent for 3M021, which is 1.2 points lower than in the corresponding period of 2020, and 3.3 points lower than during the same reporting period last year.

At the same time, in March 2021, services rose in price by 0.4 percent over a month, which is 0.4 points lower than in March last year and 0.8 points lower than in March 2019.

Among food products and non-alcoholic beverages, the top three in terms of price increases in March this year included vegetables, tubers, plantains and legumes (4.7 percent), fruits and nuts (2.6 percent), oil and fats (1.4 percent).

In addition, among the main groups of food products and non-alcoholic beverages, the leadership in price growth for March 2021 belongs to fruits and vegetables.

Thus, fruits and nuts became more expensive over this period by 7.6 percent, vegetables, tubers, plantains and legumes - by 8 percent. In annual terms, fat and oil (29.8 percent), dairy (17 percent) and meat (16.2 percent) products became significantly more expensive.
