Uzbekistan, Latvia talk promotion of Uzbek textiles to international markets

Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Latvia Kadambay Sultanov discussed with Printful project manager Tom Hanson promising areas and mutually beneficial forms of cooperation, Trend reports referring to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Latvia.

Printful is a print-to-order shop that prints on textiles, porcelain, paper, and other materials. The innovation of the company lies in advanced integration with the world's leading e-commerce platforms. The company was created in 2013 in Los Angeles (US) by the founders of the Latvian Draugiem Group (Printful is part of it). It has production and logistics bases in Latvia, the US, Mexico, Spain, Canada, Australia, Japan.

It is reported that Sultanov presented detailed information on the results of progressive reforms in the textile industry of Uzbekistan, including those aimed at dramatically improving the provision of labor rights, transformations in the country, which made it possible to obtain the status of a beneficiary of the GSP + preferential trade system with the possibility of duty-free export of a wide range of goods to European Union market.

In turn, Tom Hanson spoke about Printful's activities, saying that the main sales markets are the US and European countries. Printful is listed as one of the fastest-growing companies in America by Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500. From 2016 to 2019, the company's turnover more than quadrupled, growing rapidly to $116 million. At the end of 2020, the figure reached $200 million, despite the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, the company is working on entering the vast Asian market and the public offering of its shares.

During the conversation, the parties discussed promising areas and mutually beneficial forms of cooperation with Printful, and an agreement was reached to establish an exchange of significant information that would contribute to reaching practical results.
