BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17. Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia plan to increase the volume of mutual trade, Trend reports via Uzbek Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.
On August 16 this year, on the eve of the visit of the president of Uzbekistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a meeting was held between the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev and the Minister of Commerce of Saudi Arabia Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi.
During the meeting, measures were discussed to increase the volume of mutual trade, ways to further strengthen investment cooperation, as well as the economic agenda for the upcoming visit of the head of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia.
A 13-fold increase in bilateral trade since the beginning of this year was reached, mainly due to active mutual supplies of textile products, fruits and vegetables, plastic and metal products.
The parties expressed mutual interest in both increasing the volume of deliveries and expanding the range of shipped commodity items.
As a result of the meeting, a common position was reached on all issues of mutual interest.
