BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 23. Uzbekistan put into operation a new solar power station with a capacity of 50 kW in the building of the Samarkand enterprise of territorial electric networks, Trend reports via the Uzbek Ministry of Energy.
The solar power station will generate 90,000 kWh of electricity per year. As a result, 30,000 cubic meters of natural gas will be saved.
In the daytime, the station fully provides electricity to the building of the enterprise.
Uzbekistan pays special attention to the introduction of energy-saving technologies and the development of renewable energy sources (RES). It is expected to increase the share of electricity production using all types of RES to a level of at least 25 percent by 2026.
