BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 8. Uzbekistan produced 1.9 million tons of milk from January through March 2023, which is a slight increase of 3.2 percent, compared to the same period of 2022, Trend reports via the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
The committee noted that Uzbekistan’s Samarkand region, by producing 285,000 tons of milk, ranked first among the regions of the country in terms of the volume of raw milk production during the first quarter of 2023.
Fergana region ranked second with over 222,000 tons, with the Khorezm region was third with more than 211,000 tons of milk. The country’s Karakalpakstan region produced the smallest volume of milk – 54,000 tons.
