TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, March 26. Germany's Hyper Partners GmbH and Emirati Tepelen Group Holding Limited will build two solar power plants in Uzbekistan's Pop district, Namangan region, Trend reports.
Hyper Partners GmbH plans to develop a 500-megawatt solar power
project. The project costs $350 million and has an annual capacity
of 1.9 billion kWh.
Another solar power plant will be erected in the Pop District in
collaboration with Tepelen Group Holding Limited. It will likewise
cost $350 million with a capacity of 500 megawatts.
Uzbekistan plans to connect these plants to the grid by the end of this year. They will create 120 permanent jobs.
Meanwhile, Emirati Masdar will build a 300 MW solar power plant and a 75 MW electricity storage system in Uzbekistan's Kashkadarya region.
Masdar won the tender for the construction of the solar power plant in May 2023.
The company established Nur Kashkadarya Solar PV LLC to implement the project on the basis of a public-private partnership.
Expected foreign investments in the project will amount to $250.5 million.
