TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 19. Russian Railways OJSC will open a representative office in Uzbekistan soon, Trend reports.
According to the information, this became known during the meeting between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, Minister of Transportation Ilhom Mahkamov, and the head of Russian Railways, Oleg Belozyorov.
In the course of the meeting, the sides noted the joint implementation of international infrastructure projects, development of passenger transportation, expansion of logistics services, digitalization, educational programs, and humanitarian cooperation.
Furthermore, one of the main results of the cooperation was the resumption of train service on the Tashkent-Moscow route. The train will start running once a week from September 24 and twice a week from December 15 after the introduction of a new schedule.
In addition, both sides are considering options for tourist train routes, and the freight transportation segment is working on the launch of an accelerated refrigerated container train “agroexpress”.
