Former Iranian MP arrested

A former Iranian MP, a member of the Islamic Iran Participation Front Ali Shukurirad has been arrested, MEHR news agency reported.

The Tehran prosecutor's office announced the arrest of Shukurirad, the report said. Shukurirad is accused of propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran and spreading false information about the head of the judicial system of Iran Sadiq Larijani.

"According to the laws of Iran, propaganda against the Islamic Republic is a crime. The fact of the crime by the mentioned person was proved, the court decision has been made, and he was placed in prison," prosecutor office's statement said.
