According to Iranian official statistics, the number of divorces in the country increased by 37 percent in the last five years, Iranian news agency MEHR reported.
The number of divorces was 84,000 in 2005 and 137,200 in 2010.
Divorces mainly occur in young families, where couples are under 30 years old. Divorced women are mostly aged 20-24 and divorced men are about 25 -29 years old.
