(Hurriyet.com.tr) - Speaking at a meeting on Nabucco pipeline project in Vienna on Monday, Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler said that Turkey will be the energy bridge of the EU. Speaking to A.A before he attended a meeting on Nabucco pipeline project in Vienna, Guler said, ''EU has received natural gas from Algeria, Norway and Russia so far, reports Trend.
Through Nabucco project, Turkey will be the most important partner which will transfer natural gas to EU countries," adding, "natural gas which will be received from some canals, especially from Azerbaijan, will be transferred to EU via Turkey. Thus, Turkey will be an important bridge."
''When the pipeline becomes active, Turkey will transfer 30-100 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Europe,'' said Guler.
He noted, ''cost of Nabucco project is 6 billion USD. 65 percent of the pipeline will pass over Turkey.''
