After selling 2 million barrels of oil to Poland’s Lotos refinery, Iran recently sold one million barrels of oil to the country’s another refinery Polski Koncern Naftowy SA (PKN Orlen), Mohsen Qamsari, director of international affairs at the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) told Mehr Dec.16.

He added that the sold oil to both refineries was spot oil, but Lotos has willingness to sign a long term oil purchase deal with Iran.

Earlier, PKN ORLEN announced on Dec.14 that it has purchased 1 million barrels of Iranian Light oil. It will be delivered to Naftoport in Gdańsk in January, to be then transported to the PKN ORLEN refinery in Płock.

Earlier Reuters reported based on industrial sources that Iran’s oil export to EU (including Turkey) in December reached 767,000 barrels per day, about 10 percent more than the previous month.

Before the sanctions were enforced, Iran was exporting about 2.2 million bpd of crude each month, with Europe taking about 600,000 bpd, according to the International Energy Agency.
