Tehran, Iran, Sept.27

Trend:

The capacity of Iran's ports have grown by some 10 percent during the sanctions, which indicates progress, said the Minister of Road and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The most important part of sanctions against Iran was the maritime sector, but due to official support, the country's maritime sector situation has developed, and can not be compared with the past," he added.

"Iran's tankers and shipping fleet are in good shape," Eslami added.

He went on to add that implementation of the development plan for the Shahid Rajaee Port includes three intensive working shifts and it is necessary to provide vessels for the country's needs.

"Today, despite the withdrawing of some 85,000 foreign containers and companies from Iran's ports, we're working based on international standards," he said.
