Iran will produce strips and devices for diabetes tests, Sepide Qolbaz, director of the Laboratory Equipment Department of the General Directorate of Medical Equipment of the Iran Food and Drug Administration, said.
“One of the local Iranian companies is able to produce a device for diabetes tests with the help of local experts,” Qolbaz added, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Health Ministry's website.
The director of the department also added that these devices will be put up for sale.
"In accordance with the Iran Food and Drug Administration's policy, this company can meet the domestic demand to substitute import of these devices into the country," Qolbaz said.
“Iran spends 24 million euros annually on import of strips and devices for diabetes tests,” the director of the department added.
Qolbaz said that the funds are allocated according to the official exchange rate ($1- 42,000 rials).
