TEHRAN, Iran, July 25. The power consumption in Iran's industries is increasing in the current Iranian year (started March 21,2022), Iranian Energy Ministry's Spokesman for Electricity Industry Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi told Trend.
"The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has collaborated and planned to improve consumption based on restrictions on power distribution in the last winter," he said adding that the Iran Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution Company (Tavanir) provides sustainable electricity to industries in the current year.
According to the official, following the ministry's power consumption management plan for industries in late May created good collaboration and the power consumption in industries has increased by 8.6 percent.
Iranian industries including the steel industry fell short of its target output by 6 million tons, inflicting a loss of $4 billion in the last Iranian year due to restrictions levied on energy supply and power outages.
Large industries have become more interested to invest in reliable and stable electricity and the construction of power plants for their production units.
