BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 25. Iranian Saipa Automobile Company's passenger car production decreased by 4.4 percent in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023), the data of Iran's Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade said, Trend reports.

Iran's Saipa Automobile Manufacturing Company produced 363,500 passenger cars in the previous Iranian year and sold them in the country.

During the previous Iranian year, Saipa Automobile Manufacturing Company produced 380,331 passenger cars and sold 420,331 passenger cars with a domestic assembly of 40,000 units.

Meanwhile, in the previous Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024), 1.13 million passenger cars were produced in Iran. This is 6 percent more than the year before (from March 21, 2022, through March 20, 2023).

To note, over the years, Iran has focused on domestic production rather than importing passenger cars. Therefore, it has imposed certain restrictions on the import of passenger cars into the country. However, due to insufficient domestic production, low quality, and low safety levels, the restrictions on importing passenger cars into the country have been reduced to some extent.
