The Iranian Foreign Ministry has criticized Bahrain's Minister of Interior Rashid bin Abdullah al Khalifa for accusing the Islamic Republic of meddling in the domestic affairs of the Arab country.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham rejected bin Abdullah's remarks as irrelevant, IRNA news agency reported July 24.
The regional stability has been endangered by Takfiri terrorism and tribal policies, Afkham said. She added that Iran has always tried to help regional security and boost stability.
Bahraini officials would better attend their domestic problems instead of projecting them, the Iranian official stated. She called for trust-building measures by Bahrain's authorities to prepare grounds for national talks and end the ongoing crisis.
Bin Abdullah had recently accused Iran of interfering in the domestic affairs of Bahrain and said Iran's actions have gone beyond international frameworks of peaceful neighborhood.
Arab officials have frequently accused Iran of playing a role in the affairs of Bahrain, something Tehran rejects
