By Fatih Karimov - Trend:

Conditions are appropriate for Iran and Croatia to boost bilateral ties in different fields.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani met with Croatian Parliament Speaker Josip Leko in Tehran, to discuss ways to boost all-out ties between the two countries, Shana reported Oct. 4.

During the meeting, Rouhani said that after the nuclear agreement was reached between Iran and world powers, conditions have been provided to expand economic ties.

"In addition to economic relations, Iran and Croatia have potential to expand cooperation in scientific and technical areas," he added.

He also praised Croatia for its positive stance regarding Iran's nuclear program, saying that Iran will not accept double standards and believes that there should be no privilege and discrimination with regard to any nation in scientific and technological areas.

The Croatian official, for his part, said his country regards Iran as a big power with high economic capacities not only in the Middle East but also in the world, and is determined to enhance relations with the Islamic Republic.

He said the expansion of bilateral relations will play an effective role in establishing regional and global stability.

"Croatia attaches great importance to Iran's stance on crises in regional countries, particularly in Iraq and Syria," he stressed.
