Iran is first among the Islamic countries, and 10th in the world for number of students in the country, Deputy Minister of Education, Research and Technologies of Iran Huseyn Naderimenesh said, IRNA reported.
Naderimenesh noted that for every 100 000 people in Iran, approximately 5,500 are students of universities.
According to Iran's Ministry of Science, currently there are over 4 millions of students in the country, and the number of universities is over 2000. Before the revolution in Iran, there were only 223 universities in the country.
