Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, who took office as the head of state on Tuesday, accepted the resignation of the government, News-Armenia reported.
The inauguration of the re-elected President of Armenia took place in Yerevan on Tuesday.
The resignation letter was presented by the Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan at the presidential administration in the presence of members of the government.
According to the fourth paragraph of Article 55 of the Constitution of Armenia, the President accepts the resignation of the government on the date of accession to office.
The incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan won the first round of the February 18 presidential election in Armenia with 58.64% of the vote.
