The story of a 10-year-old Seema from Bihar who was seen hopping to school with an amputated leg. She was provided with a prosthetic limb made by the Bhagalpur unit of Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC), Trend reports citing India Today.

The team of prosthetics and orthotics engineers made a new limb for Seema at short notice. At the lab, engineer Sumant Kumar Singh said on May 25, he was told to make a prosthetic limb.

Singh said that the time was short and the team got involved immediately. The construction of Seema's prosthetic leg was quite challenging due to the power problem, he said.

But the team managed to manufacture a prosthetic leg in just 12 hours, with no breaks. On May 26, he had sent the limb to Jamui. While on May 27, Seena received the limb.

The artificial limb center was established at Bhagalpur 8 years ago. From here, artificial limbs are manufactured for Jamui, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Jamui, Munger Begusarai, Banka districts. Singh said so far nearly 1500 people have benefited from the artificial limbs manufactured by this centre.

Seema, who hails from Bihar's Jamui district, had created ripples across the nation when she was seen hopping to school in a viral video. Her leg had to be amputated after an unfortunate accident two years ago. It was her dedication to learn and the desire to continue her school that won millions of hearts. Actor Sonu Sood, too, had offered to help her.
