( dpa ) - Israeli soldiers shot dead a 17-year-old Palestinian during clashes near the southern West Bank city of Hebron Friday afternoon, Palestinian security officials reported.
They said the youth was among a group of Palestinians throwing stones at an Israeli force that had entered the village of Beit Ummar.
Two militants from the village had infiltrated a nearby Jewish settlement late Thursday, stabbing two local security guards before being shot dead themselves.
An Israeli military spokesman confirmed the military was operating in the village, but said he was checking the circumstances of the killing.
