Elegant luxury furniture made for pop star Michael Jackson will be auctioned in Las Vegas, Julien's auction house announced Friday, dpa reported.
Twenty-two furniture lots commissioned by Jackson for his planned residence in Kent in Britain will be sold at the Music Icons auction on June 25.
Among the pieces is a monumental nine-seat sofa with red velvet button-tufted upholstery and details in 24-carat gold, which the auction house expects to sell for up to 150,000 dollars. Also expected on the auction block are an armchair and a desk with ivory details in the style of the 17th century.
Italian manufacturer Colombostile Artisans said the larger share of the auction proceeds would go to two charities.
