(RIA Novosti) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Kiev November 7-8, the ministry's official spokesman said Monday.

Lavrov is expected to participate in the work of a body preparing the first session of the Interstate Commission, headed by Russian and Ukrainian presidents Vladimir Putin and Viktor Yushchenko, reports Trend.

"The parties are actively working on an agenda for the upcoming talks, and if they are a success the visit will take place November 7-8," Mikhail Kamynin.

Lavrov said October 3 that the problem of Transdnestr, a self-proclaimed republic in Moldova that borders on Ukraine and which has seen an economic blockade imposed by the two countries this year, will be prominent on the agenda.
