The death toll from pandemic influenza, publicly known as swine flu, has risen to 73 in Turkey, Anadolu reported.
Releasing a written statement, Turkish Health Ministry said on Monday that 249 people, infected with swine flu, were currently under treatment in hospitals. "56 of 249 people are in intensive care units," the statement said.
The ministry started to vaccinate children between six months and five years, and citizens with chronic diseases as of Monday, it added.
