Figures of export from Istanbul for January-August 2019 revealed

In January-August 2019, goods worth $46.235 billion were exported from Istanbul, which is 2.76 percent more compared to the same period in 2018, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM).

During the reporting period, steel exports from Istanbul amounted to $4.983 billion, which is 4.37 percent less compared to the same period in 2018.

“In January-August 2019, cement worth $1.219 billion was exported from Istanbul, which is 12.35 percent more compared to the same period in 2018, and leather products worth $744.403 million were exported, which is 0.9 percent less compared to the same period in 2018,” the report said.

For the eight months of 2019, electric goods worth $3.792 billion were exported from Istanbul, which is 0.86 percent less compared to the same period in 2018, according to the report.

“Jewelry exports from Istanbul decreased by 1.45 percent amounting to $2.557 billion,” the report said.

In August 2019, goods worth $5.61 billion were exported from Istanbul.

During the reporting period, steel worth $536.049 million was exported from Istanbul, which is 14.99 percent less compared to August of 2018.

“In August 2019, the value of cement export from Istanbul amounted to $147.262 million, which is 26.09 percent more compared to the same period in 2018, while the value of exported leather products amounted to $94.418 million, which is 5.64 percent less compared to the same period in 2018,” said the report.

In August 2019, electric goods worth $448.783 million were exported from Istanbul, which is 0.57 percent more compared to the same period in 2018.

“Jewelry exports from Istanbul decreased by 36.38 percent compared with August 2018, amounting to $547.476 million,” the report said.
