A total of 10,601 vessels passed through the Dardanelles Strait (Canakkale) of Turkey in the 1st quarter of 2020, 1,321 of which were cargo ships, Trend reports referring to Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure on April 24.
According to the ministry, 440 cargo ships passed through the Dardanelles in January 2020, 430 - in February, and 451 - in March.
“During the first quarter of 2020, 46 warships passed through the Dardanelles,” the ministry said.
In 2019, a total of 43,759 vessels passed through the Dardanelles Strait (Canakkale) of Turkey, 14,771 of which were cargo ships.
The ministry noted that 216 warships passed through the Dardanelles in 2019.
