BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 19. The cargo transshipment through the Port of Ambarli of Türkiye amounted to 14.39 million tons from January through September 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports citing TurkicWorld.
According to the ministry, 2.3 million tons have been handled by ships flying the Turkish flag, while 12.07 million tons have been transshipped by vessels under the flags of other countries.
"In the reporting period, the Ambarli port delivered 6.59 million tons of transit cargo," the ministry said.
Turkish ports handled 269.57 million tons of freight from January through September 2022.
Ships under the Turkish flag transferred 21.3 million tons of cargo, whereas ships under the flags of other countries – 275.2 million tons.
Moreover, during this period, Turkish ports transshipped 60.67 million tons of transit cargo.
