BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 18. A total of 1.6 million tons of cargo were transported from Algeria to the ports of Türkiye from January through February 2024, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports.
The data from the ministry showed that Türkiye-flagged vessels delivered 48,548 tons of cargo from Algeria to the ports, while vessels under the flags of other countries delivered 1.1 million tons.
During this period, 562,452 tons of cargo were delivered to Turkish ports by Algerian-flagged vessels from Türkiye.
Meanwhile, 57,452 tons of transit cargo were transported to Turkish ports from Algeria.
To note, Türkiye's ports received 32.8 million tons of cargo (2.37 million tons by vessels under the flag of Türkiye and 1.2 million tons by vessels under the flags of other countries) from abroad in February 2024.
In addition, during this month, 5.9 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye.
Turkish ports received 66.3 million tons of cargo from January through February 2024.
Thus, vessels under the flag of Türkiye received 4.7 million tons of cargo, while vessels under the flags of other countries carried 61.3 million tons of cargo to Turkish ports.
From January through February this year, 11.2 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye.
In February of the current year, Turkish ports welcomed a total of 4,531 vessels, comprising 1,437 under the flags of other countries and 3,094 under the Turkish flag.
Turkish ports saw a total of 8,883 vessels, including 6,047 under the flags of other countries and 2,836 under the Turkish flag.
