Baku Representation of the International Foundation of Elections Systems (IFES) has hired a local NGO to conduct a comprehensive Gallup poll in the country.

IFES’ spokesman Inara Jahangirova told Trend that the project is carried out in all regions of Azerbaijan, including the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, with the initial data to be available by the end of September.

The questionnaires also include questions concerning the upcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, as well as the rating of popularity of political parties and socioeconomic status of the citizen.

“Yet there is no final decision on the disclosure of the results of the ongoing poll,” Jahangirova said, referring to official disclosure of the outcomes of the last year’s poll, in which more than 1,600 respondents were interviewed in different regions of the country.

Meanwhile, IFES declines to elaborate on the NGO, which has been commissioned with the conducting of the poll, citing an “extensive experience of this organization in conducting Gallup polls, which has showed itself as a safe and unbiased partner.”

Jahangirova noted that the above organization is conducting a poll for IFES for the third consecutive year. IFES is about to send focus-groups to the regions, in order to conduct an internal monitoring of the poll.
