Two new documents have been prepared in the fight against corruption in Azerbaijan, Secretary of the State Commission Against Corruption Inam Karimov said at an event today dedicated to the activity of the Office for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General's Office in the first half of this year.
Two documents - action plan for promoting open government and action plan to combat corruption have been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers. After the Cabinet of Ministers makes a decision and puts forward proposals, the document will be submitted to the Azerbaijani President for approval.
Karimov expressed hope for rapid adoption of these documents and said that at the initial stage, they have been prepared as the action plan in combating and increasing transparency in the fight against corruption.
"Then, the draft document was divided into two parts," he added. "Two plans of activity were prepared. The draft documents were prepared by the State Commission Against Corruption."
The representatives of the civil society were involved in developing the action plans, Karimov said. But the NGOs' proposals were taken into account. The action plans have been already submitted for public discussion.
