By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran gained great economic achievements despite problems in the current Iranian fiscal year, President Hassan Rouhani said.
"Despite all problems arising from the sanctions, the climate change and drought, and the oil price decline, the Iranian nation gained notable achievements," Iran's Fars news agency quoted Rouhani as saying on March 18.
"The country was also successful in political arena. We held negotiations with the neighboring countries," he added.
Non-oil exports hit a record high of $50 billion current year, he said, adding that the situation will be improved in the next year.
He also said that great achievements have been gained in agriculture and industry sectors and great services have been offered in culture and healthcare areas.
The current Iranian fiscal year ends on March 20.
Iran has been put under economic sanctions by Western powers which claim that it is developing nuclear bombs, something the country denies.
Iranian officials on the other hand have frequently denounced the sanctions as unjust and said the country is determined to pursue its national interests.
