Tehran Stock Exchange main index plunges

Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) main index dropped by 382 points on October 25 compared to its preceding day.

The main index fell to 62,792, according to the tse.ir website.

The main and the secondary market indices decreased by 329 points and 483 points, respectively.

Over 243 million shares, worth 500 billion rials (around $14 million) were transacted.

The capital market's value decreased to 2.71 trillion rials (about $77.5 billion) compared to 2.73 billion rials on October 23.

TSE trades a range of shares, funds and financial instruments, including Sukuk and Islamic funds. It has not received foreign investment for several years because of sanctions over Iran's nuclear program.
