Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Ministry comments on Minister Natik Aliyev's statements regarding pipeline options for transporting Azerbaijani gas to Europe published in the media on July 24.
Minister, as a member of the Government of Azerbaijan, is not directly involved in the pipeline route selection process, and he supports and respects any decision made by the SD consortium in accordance with the Shah Deniz Production Sharing Agreement, the ministry said.
Both the Trans Adriatic Pipeline and Nabucco West Pipeline are still under consideration, and a final selection will be made in 2013 based on the publicly available criteria set out by the Shah Deniz consortium.
