Six missing, one injured in China mine explosion

Six people were missing and another one was injured after a small-sized limestone mine explosion early Sunday morning in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, local authorities said, Xinhua reported.

The accident happened at about 2 a.m. in Uiad Qianqi. Rescue is still under way.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.

Twelve miners were trapped in a flooded coal mine in north China's Shanxi Province, the country's top safety watchdog said on Sunday.

Ninety-four miners were working underground when the accident occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday. Some 82 miners had already been rescued while 12 others were still trapped, the State Administration of Work Safety said in its website.
