Baku, Azerbaijan, June 20
Azerbaijan is ready to host the Olympic Games, Gregor Kos, Slovenian state television journalist, told Trend June 19.
Kos has been accredited for the first European Games in Baku.
"Baku is a beautiful city," said Kos, who is accreditedfor the European Games. "Besides the modern buildings, there are old ones in the capital, but they are well kept. The inhabitants are very friendly. The cuisine is very tasty."
Kos also said that the opening ceremony of the first European Games was grandiose.
"The games have been organized very well," he said. "This event gives the impression of the Olympic Games, rather than the European Games. The country is fully prepared for the Olympic Games. Organizing and security issues are at the highest level."
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28. There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
