Bill on ‘Culture’ to Undergo Changes in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / Drastic changes are being planned for the bill on 'Culture', MP Nizami Jafarov, the chairman of the permanent parliamentary commission on culture issues, said.

The Culture Ministry considers it necessary to adopt a bill on culture. We can reach significant results by injecting changes and supplements to the bill, the MP said.

The bill on 'Culture' was adopted in 1997. However, the bill does not meet international standards. About 40 to 50% of the bill will be changed.

Discussions concerning the program of development of culture for the next ten years, which was developed by order of the Azerbaijani President, Ilham Aliyev, was completed in the Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Ministry.
