On July 24 Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev decreed to approve agreement on organizing cargo transport via direct railway ferry communication, operation and numeration of freight cars via ports Baku (Azerbaijan) and Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan) signed in Ashgabat on November 28, 2008, AzerTaj news agency reported.
The Cabinet of Ministers is instructed to take necessary steps to implement the agreement and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is mandated to bring to the attention of the Turkmen side the need to implement appropriate internal procedures to enable the agreement to take effect.
