Azerbaijani Ambassador to Georgia
Namig Aliyev will meet with Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) Chairman Zurab Kharatishvili, CEC Spokesman Julie Giorgadze told Trend.
The meeting will be held upon the initiative of the ambassador, who has voiced concern about the Azerbaijani minority's participation in the local elections May 30.
"We intend to familiarize Aliyev with how the commission works in the Azerbaijani-populated Kvemo-Kartli region," Giorgadze said.
She said ballots have been printed in the Azerbaijani language for this region.
Recently, the Georgian television channel reported that the people of the region have not been informed about the elections and accused the CEC of failing to speak with the population.
