The first session of the Public Chamber, created by opposition parties in Azerbaijan will be held on January 29. The decision was made on Thursday at a meeting of the Coordinating Council of the Public Chamber.
A decision was made to hold sessions of the Public Chamber at least once a month. The sessions will be held last Saturday each month. The meetings of the Coordinating Board will be held at least once a week on Fridays.
The structure of the Public Chamber, the working procedures of the Chamber, the Coordinating Board, the work plan for January and admission of new members were discussed.
A public chamber has been established at the third forum of Azerbaijani opposition on Dec. 28. Declaration on the establishment of the public chamber was signed by Musavat Party, Azerbaijan National Independence Party, Popular Front Party, the Classic Popular Front Party, People's Party, as well as representative of NGOs.
The goals of the public chamber include: conducting research in the strategic development of Azerbaijani society and state, preparing and submitting for discussion the projects (including bills), programs, concepts, doctrine, sending requests to government authorities, ensuring civil movement for democracy to bring together all the best representatives of the Azerbaijani society, regardless of their political affiliation.
