President Ilham Aliyev: The present level of US-Azerbaijan relations is satisfactory

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev congratulated the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama on national holiday - Independence Day, the official website of Azerbaijani President reported.

"I extend my heartfelt congratulations to You and, in your person, to all your people on behalf of myself and people of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the US national holiday, Independence Day", said in message.

According to Ilham Aliyev, the present level of US-Azerbaijan relations is satisfactory.

"Our cooperation is developing steadily both on a bilateral basis and within international organizations, thus, covering more fields.

We are determined to contribute to ensuring strategically important energy security, and our partnership in the fight against terrorism.

I am sure we will steadily continue our cooperation to pursue the policy of building of democratic, legal state and implementation of large-scale economic projects.
The United States` interest in establishment of peace, stability in our region is very important for us. We are hopeful that efforts of Your, Mr. President, your country, as OSCE Minsk Group co-chair to solve fairly and in line with international legal norms the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which resulted in violation of territorial integrity of our country, occupation of our lands and displacement of our countrymen from their homes, will bring its benefits very soon", said in Azerbaijani President's message.

Ilham Aliyev wished good health, success in activities to Barack Obama, peace and prosperity to the friendly American people.
