BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 6. The current relationship between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan is strong and strategically important, said Yerik Batyrkhanov, a Kazakh political scientist and analyst at the "Talap" Center for Applied Research, in an interview with Trend.

"Our relationship is built on common cultural and historical roots, as well as a shared understanding of global and regional challenges. In recent years, the two countries have actively expanded bilateral cooperation in areas such as transport, energy, economy, and culture, which is especially significant within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), where both play leading roles," the analyst emphasized.

He identified several key areas for deepening cooperation between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, stressing the importance of developing infrastructure and simplifying trade and investment procedures. He added that improving logistics and transport links will further strengthen economic integration between the two countries.

"Energy cooperation holds great potential, particularly in the areas of green energy and renewable resources," Batyrkhanov noted, pointing out that such joint efforts are in line with global environmental goals.

He also highlighted the importance of digital cooperation: "Expanding IT and digitalization projects will drive technological progress in both countries." He added that supporting joint initiatives in these fields will help strengthen Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan's economic and technological development.

Batyrkhanov also stressed the need to focus on cultural and educational exchanges. "These exchanges will deepen mutual understanding between our peoples and help raise a new generation grounded in the values of Turkic unity," he said.

When discussing security, he noted the importance of collaboration in this area as well. "Joint efforts to develop mediation and peacekeeping mechanisms, along with sharing experiences in law enforcement, will significantly enhance regional stability and security," concluded Batyrkhanov.
