The first Congress of International Youth Public Organizations Youth Forum of GUAM Countries started its work in Baku today, on November 29, Trend reports.
Delegates from all the member-states of the Organization (Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Moldova) are participating in the work of the Congress.
Youth organizations of GUAM member-states are successfully integrating to the international organizations and taking their active parts in processes happening all over the World, Azad Rahimov, Azerbaijan Youth and Sports Minister, has said during his welcome speech to the opening of the Congress today. Azerbaijan leadership is doing all possible to support any initiatives of the youth organizations aimed at close cooperation with foreign countries, including within authoritative regional and international organizations
Azerbaijan has recently adopted 20 normative documents in the sphere of youth policy, the Minister said. Many Azerbaijan youth organizations are full members of a number of international organizations and successfully integrating to regional and international organizations, and the initiative on establishing of the GUAM Youth Forum belongs to Azerbaijani youth organizations, he said.
Mr. Rahimov expressed his confidence that the future activity of the Forum will be efficient.
Novruz Mamadov, Chief of the International Relations Department of the Azerbaijan Presidential Administration, read a welcome message of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to participants of the Congress, where the President wished them success in their activity.
Within two days, participants of the Congress will elaborate the final reading of the Charter of the Forum of Youth Organization of GUAM Member-States, as well as an Action Plan and mechanisms of cooperation within the Forum. The Congress is expected to choose its Chairman, Deputies, and Secretary General of the Forum.
Three documents are expected to be adopted in result of the Forum the resolution of the Congress, appeal to the Heads and MPs of GUAM Members-States, as well as the declaration on conflict zones.
