Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The Azerbaijan National Independence Party (ANIP) will hold a rally in front of the Iranian Embassy in Baku. Ayaz Rustamov, the chairman of the Party reported that they will protest against the violation of rights of Azerbaijanis residing in Iran and the repression of activists of the National Movement of the South Azerbaijan.
The party has appealed to the Baku City Executive Power to authorize the action. ANIP is keen to hold the rally even if the Mayoral Office rejects the appeal.
The next rally will be held in front of the Iranian embassy in May.
The ANIP was founded in 1992 by Etibar Mammadov who was the Chairman of the oppositional party until 2004. At present Mammadov is the Deputy Chairman of the International Democracy Alliance.
