AFFA Gives A Year to Azerbaijan’s Football Clubs to Solve Stadium Problem

Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 July / Trend corr R.Ergun/ A year will be given to Azerbaijan's football clubs to solve stadium-related problem. "We must take some measures to prevent four/three teams from holding domestic games in the same stadium. We will present a demand to premier league's clubs. They will be given a year to solve the stadium problem," President of the Professional Football League (PFL) Ramin Musayev said to Trend on 4 July.

On 5 July, the hall of the Association of the Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) will host a meeting of the Executive Committee to consider the limit applied to foreign footballers playing in the premier league. The stadium-related issue is also expected to be discussed at the meeting.

Musayev voiced his confidence that the meeting would decide to completely eliminate the limit on legionaries. "From my talk with heads of the clubs I understood they back limit elimination. In my opinion, that will promote development of local footballers. Thus, we will create rivalry amongst local footballer and legionaries," he said.

Former Vice-President of Neftchi club Musayev said final formation of PFL would complete in near future: "We submitted our documents to the Justice Ministry. On 15 July, we will get registration and will complete all work on formation of PFL."The correspondent can be contacted at [email protected]
