Azerbaijan, Baku, 6 Dec / Trend corr. T.Jafarov/ Iran has presented Nizami Ganjavi, a great Azerbaijani poet of the 12th century, as a Persia poet, again.
The Iranian publishing house Emir Kebir has re-issued a book with Nizami Ganjavi's (Ganjei) works, including Khosrov and Shirin, Leyli and Majnun, Igbalname and Sharafname, with Behruz Servetiyani's corrections, the Iranian agency MehrNews reported, presenting Ganjavi as an Iranian poet.
Corrections and comments have been injected into Khosrov and Shirin in line with 14 manuscripts, preserved in different museums and libraries of the world.
The book, which has been issued by Emir Kebir publishing house, covers 1,175 pages and its edition - 2,000 copies.
Leyli and Majnun has been corrected in line with 12 manuscripts. One of these manuscripts is being preserved at the National library of Tabriz and the rest - in the Moscow library.
Book of Leyli and Majnun consists of 683 pages and its edition covers 1,000 copies.
Isgender's Sharafname by Ganjavi has been dedicated to Alexander of Macedon.
Ganjavi created this work on the base of Ancient Isgandarname, written in the 6th century. The published book covers 828 pages and its edition - 2,000 copies.
Ganjavi narrates s poet's life in Igbalname, which was written in 607 Hijra year and differs from Nizami's other five huge works. However Nizami died and could not finish this work.
This book comprises 600 pages and issued with edition of 500 copies.
The Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan said that they would express their attitude on this matter.
Nizami Ganjavi is an Azerbaijani poet and thinker of the 12th century. His full name is Jamaladdin Ilyas ibn Yusif Nizami Ganjavi. The great Azerbaijani poet was born in 1141 in the Azerbaijani city of Ganja. He lived and was occupied with creation in this city throughout his life period and never left the city. Nizami died in Ganja in 1209.
Nizami studied at a madrasah in Ganja and then he studied science of this period, particularly literature, including oral one, of the Middle Eastern nation. At the same time, he knew the Turkic language, Arabian and Persian, as well as the Greek language, philosophic works, astronomy, medicine and geometry.
Nizami Ganjavi entered the world history of culture as an author of Khamsa (Five), comprising five poems, written in couplet form.
