80 candidates who passed the exams for judge position and most of the last stages of the contest will be appointed by the end of the year, the chairman of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan Ramiz Rzayev briefed the media on August 25.
"The President signed a decree to increase the number of judges to 600 people. If necessary, contest will again be announced for the judge position in future. There are 140 vacant positions of judges in Azerbaijan. Part of the vacancies will be filled by the candidates, who will be appointed by the end of the year," said Rzayev.
Rzayev said that administrative boards will be established as part of Appeal and Supreme Courts. They will start functioning from January.
