An Azerbaijani cultural center will soon open in Izmit, Turkey, President of the Turkish-Azerbaijani Circles Federation (FTAK) Bilal Dyundar said at a press conference in Baku.

"We will collect visual aids for Azerbaijan, cultural samples and books on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict", he said

A building has been allocated to accommodate the Azerbaijani students upon FTAK's initiative and with the support of the Izmit municipality.

"The Federation established in 2006 now unifies 22 circles. We expect to enlarge the number of circles to 35 by late 2011," he added.

"FTAK intended to acquaint the Turkish public with Azerbaijani history and culture," Dundar said.

He said that Azerbaijani policy was fully supported in the country, despite the presence of various communities and organizations in Turkey.

Some three million people of Azerbaijani descent reside in Turkey.
