The symbol, slogan and web page of the Baku's bid to host the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games were presented Wednesday.
Vice-President of Azerbaijan's National Olympic Committee Chingiz Huseynzade said at the ceremony that sports infrastructure, which was created in the country in recent years, is an indicator of concern for the sport in Azerbaijan and shows that the state is paying special attention to this area.
Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov told reporters that the country's current goal in host selection is to prepare, by February 2012, an "order book", containing information about Baku and Azerbaijan. He noted that three world-class companies involved in the preparatory work. The Minister said that in order to win, Baku's bid needs people support more than that of the government.
"Together we can" was elected as the slogan of the 2020 Baku Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The presentation was attended by Azerbaijani Olympic medalists Zemfira Meftahetdinova (skeet shooting), Elnur Mammadov (judo) and Paralympic Ilham Zakiyev (judo).
During the ceremony the official website of 2020 Baku Olympic and Paralympic Games, www.baku2020.com, was also presented.
