Azerbaijani Ministry of National Security (MNS) detains a group of persons involved in illegal business activities and implementation of international telecommunications services, causing major damage to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology of the Republic, the Ministry said.
The group without passing certain laws, and state registration without obtaining a special permit that is required by the license, engaged in illegal business activities.
A possible unauthorized use of these networks in a variety of transnational organized criminal purposes were prevented along with an exposure of illegal business activities, which is a serious hindrance to the mobile operators Azerfon and Bakcell Ltd and harming the economic interests of the Azerbaijani state in the result of operational measures.
A criminal case under Art 192.2.2 (business activity without registration in accordance with the legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic, or without a special permit (license) in cases where such a permit (license) is required, or in violation of licensing conditions, if this act caused great damage to individuals, organizations or to the State implemented by an organized group) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan was filled.
Operational and investigative activities to identify other participants of the illegal activities and investigate all the facts of initiated criminal cases are continued.
